Off to Barcelona, leaving you with some nice links

I’m taking a short break and will spend some days in Barcelona. I’d like to leave you with a few links to some of my favorite blogs:

Unit StructuresI’ve been reading “Fred Stutzman’s thoughts about information, social networks and technology” for a while now and I was kind of surprised when I found out he was in a panel discussion right after our Sofware Studies panel at HASTACII. With a focus on social networking this is one of the best theoretical blogs on social media out there.

Ghost Sites of the Web: Where Dead Sites Live On… Where Web Disasters Are Still Fresh

Identifying and critiquing aging, abandoned, and derelict web sites since 1996. Includes a Web 1.0 screenshot library, essays, and “The Museum of Interactive Failure.” By Internet Marketing veteran Steve Baldwin.

Do I need to say more? For those who love web vintage.

serial consign – on research and design by Greg. J. Smith. One of my primary resources for design projects with a theoretical approach and vice versa.

Kenspeckle– This blog is a mixture of posts on a variety of topics, for example the latest special internet appearances by Cookie Monster or broken heart/valid heart t-shirts:

Kenspeckle.net, a blog by Lauren Sperber, is meant to be “a humorous, hyperlinked look at language, internet culture, and anything conspicuous.”

Datamob

Datamob is a project by Lauren Sperber and Sean Flannagan:

Datamob aims to show, in a very simple way, how public data sources are being used. Our listings emphasize the connection between data posted by governments and public institutions and the interfaces people are building to explore that data.

Enjoy!
